AHEPA Supreme President Frangos welcomed by Atlanta AHEPA Mother Lodge Chapter 1
An informal reception for AHEPA Supreme President Phillip T. Frangos and his family was hosted by AHEPA Chapter 1 President Charlie Burland and more than two dozen Atlanta Mother Lodge Chapter 1 and Marietta Prometheus Lodge Chapter 519 members at a special dinner held at Athens Pizza on Clairmont Road in Atlanta on Tuesday June 2nd, 2015.
Brother Frangos remarked on the many recent accomplishments, positive direction and bright future of our AHEPA Family (including widespread support for re-building St. Nicholas Shrine in New York) as he completed a tour of District 1 chapters in Birmingham and Atlanta. A gift basket of “Southern hospitality” staples offered by Atlanta’s chapter - including Coca Cola beverages, Williamson Brothers BBQ sauce, fresh Georgia peaches and other regional items – was especially appreciated.
District 1 Governor Pete Nassos, along with Mother Lodge brothers Sandy Papadopoulos, Gus Hazifotis, Tom Kantsios, John Shinas and John Boosalis, all of whom were nominated by Chapter 1 to represent Atlanta at AHEPA’s National Convention in San Francisco later this month, took the opportunity to share with Supreme President Frangos their valuable insights about continuing momentum in the Atlanta chapter’s growth and future challenges in the District.
Atlanta’s renewed Adelphi Chapter 86 of Sons of Pericles, represented by incoming president Greg Vourloumis, also enjoyed this memorable evening of fellowship with Atlanta and Marietta AHEPA Family members and District 1 officials.
